I got an email from a friend today.

In college there was an evil guy who basically ruined any trust I could ever have in men, blah blah, if you read my diary, I'm sure you know the story. He attacked another girl recently and his trial ended yesterday. 36 months madatory, no more than 48 months. Somehow I think I should be happy about this, like some sort of relief is suposed to wash over me and I'll feel confident and appreciative that he's out of "society."

But really all I feel is indifferent.
